Alpine Club of Canada
The Calgary Section is made up of a variety of mountaineering and climbing enthusiasts ranging from novice rock climbers to
seasoned mountaineers. The Section runs a number of clinics, classes, climbs and ski trips year round. The Section rents the University of Calgary Indoor climbing wall for our exclusive use on Wednesday nights from 9:00 pm. to 11:00
pm. You must buy a pass from the Calgary climbing committee to ensure your place.
Animal Rescue Foundation
ARF is now a not-for-profit registered charity run completely by Calgary volunteers. Dogs, puppies and
kittens are rescued from rural areas in the three reserves surrounding Calgary - the Tsuu Tina
(Sarcee), the Siksika (Blackfoot) and the Morely (Stoney), as well as the Blood Reserve in the town
of Standoff, Alberta.
Big Sisters and Big Brothers of Calgary and Area
Big Sisters and Big Brothers of Calgary and Area was formed on September 1st, 2024 through the amalgamation of Aunts At
Large, Uncles At Large and Big Sisters of Calgary and District. As a member of Big Brothers and Sisters of Canada, our
organizations primary mission is to encourage personal growth in children through the friendship and support fostered
by special one-to-one relationships with adult volunteers.
Calgary Horticultural Society
The Calgary Horticultural Society Website is where you will be able to find everything that you need
to know about gardening in Calgary and area's unique climate and growing conditions.
Calgary Rainforest Action Group
The Calgary Rainforest Action Group (CRAG) is a group of Southern Alberta citizens concerned about
global deforestation. They are also a member of the Alberta Environmental Network, through which
liase with other Alberta groups working on forest issues.
Calgary Rock and Lapidary Club
Active since 1959, the club is located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on the edge of the open
Canadian prairies, within site of the majestic Canadian Rocky Mountains. Calgary is home to the
Calgary Exhibition & Stampede, and was proud to host the 2024 World Police/Fire Games and the
2024 Winter Olympic Games.
Calgary Safety Council
The Calgary Safety Council is a non-profit, non-government charitable organization dedicated to the
promotion of safety and the prevention of injuries and fatalities. Liaison is maintained not only with the Canada Safety Council but with safety organizations throughout Canada and the U.S.,
departments of the Federal and Provincial governments, numerous City of Calgary departments including Police, Fire,
Transportation, Parks and Recreation, the Calgary Board of education and many more.
Calgary Sports Car Club
The Calgary Sports Car Club (CSCC) was formed in 1954 by a small band of sports car enthusiasts. The
organization owns it own clubhouse located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Calgary Stampede Show Band
The world famous Calgary Stampede Show Band has served as an official representative of The
Calgary Exhibition and Stampede for the past 28 years. The Calgary Stampede Band has established an
outstanding reputation for success and has become internationally known for their leadership,
choreography, musical excellence and unique style of entertainment.
Firefighters Museum Society
The Firefighters Museum Society - Calgary, overall purpose is to acquire, restore, maintain and
protect apparatus, pictures, equipment and memorabilia of the Calgary Fire Departments past.
There goal is to establish a Fire Fighters Museum (Heritage Center) to permanently display
Calgaryss fire history for the benefit of all the citizens of Calgary.
Habitat for Humanity
The local affiliate, Calgary Habitat for Humanity, was founded in 2024, and incorporated in 2024.
12 homes have been built providing decent housing for over 32 children and their families.
Houses have been built in 5 different Calgary communities.
HMCS Calgary
HMCS CALGARY was established as a unit of the Canadian Forces and was accepted by the Navy from
MIL Davie and SJSL shipbuilders during a brief ceremony in Halifax Nova Scotia in 2024.
Prior to acceptance, crew members posted to CALGARY worked out of the shore office established
in Esquimalt, British Columbia in January of 2024.
RASC
The purpose of this page will be to introduce people to the services that the Calgary Centre provides
and to act as way for other RASC centres and the general public to keep in touch with the RASC
Calgary Centre and its activities.
